This week has been ugly, and today it was finally sunny! So here's the tale of what happened.
The summers here are hot and rainy, by the way. I don't know how it is elsewhere.
This week I have been volunteering at my church for VBS (Vacation Bible School), so I've had less time to film, and it's during most of the sunny hours of the days that this goes on. So when I get home, it's not raining for the first time this week! So I grab my dolls and my camera and head outside to film a scene of Plot Twist. So I find a great place I want to film one of the scenes, so I set it up and get everything perfect, I put up decorations, everything's perfect. But then, I realize, I'm sitting right next to dog poop! So I have to get rid of that, and now I'm good to go! Let's start filming! Apparently I wasn't the only one who had to wait for the weather to improve, because the second I turn on the camera, my annoying neighbor who has ruined countless videos with their yappy dog turns on his REALLY LOUD lawnmower. WHAT THE HECK????!!!!! So finally I can't hear it as much anymore. So I start filming. All is well, until the wind moves in, blowing Skylar's hair, and knocking her over, causing leaves to get tangled in her hair. So I perfect her hair, and continue filming. All is well, until the last clip.
I am like "Almost done! Woo who!" at this point. Then Skylar falls. Dang it! Five extra minutes fixing her hair and putting her back in position. Then I finally get the clip, when the worst disaster you could possibly imagine with dolls and video cameras happens; It starts raining. I brought out ALL OF MY DOLLS (except Felicity and Kaya) for this scene. So I'm just grabbing them and the camera randomly and practically THROWING them inside (not literally, that would probably do worse damage). I am freaking out. If you get either the camera or the dolls wet, they're pretty much ruined! And when I started filming, it didn't even look like it was going to rain. I managed to get them all in in time, but WHOO. That was stressful.
Anyways, I did end up getting the scene filmed, and it looks pretty cool in my opinion. Thank you for reading my rant/ story about filming that I'm sure at least some of you understand. Have a nice day! :D
